The Texas FFA Association, Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas (ATAT), and the Texas FFA Foundation have been in communication with the City of Dallas and the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in regard to the 92 nd Texas FFA Convention scheduled to take place July 6-10, 2020 in Dallas, TX. The Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center has informed our staff that all events scheduled to take place in the convention center through July 15, 2020, have been canceled. This means that the Texas FFA Convention will move to an online format in 2020. More details about the new convention format will be available in the coming weeks. We are excited to take on the challenge our first online state FFA convention and believe it will still be a great event to celebrate the success and achievements of our students and chapters. Due to this new Texas FFA Convention online format, the 2020 Texas FFA Rodeo is cancelled. Please know that more information will be forthcoming on convention events and activities as our state officers, staff, and board of directors plan for a rewarding experience for students. The 2nd round is ran in REVERSE order, check the attached "Draw" to see your running order... (then you will reverse it to see how you'll run for the 2nd round.) Sunday July 14th, 2019 5:30 pm- DEVOTIONAL 6:00 pm - 1st round Barrels Monday July 15th, 2019 7:30 a.m. - DEVOTIONAL 8:00 a.m. - 1st go all other events then start 2nd go of timed events 7:00 p.m. - Performance starts: Long round of all rough stock Tuesday July 16th, 2019 4:00 p.m. - DEVOTIONAL 5:00 p.m. - FINALS short round: top 10 contestants on two in each timed event & all rough stock HUGE Thanks to our sponsors who donated the awards "Superior Trophies & Buckles" and "The Hat Store" in Houston, TX. We appreciate your support! $1000 Scholarships for the Event Winners will be awarded TUESDAY NIGHT AFTER THE FINALS SHORT GO! Rough stock will have a long go and a short go with a maximum of ten. If ten contestants don’t cover in the long round, they are still invited back to win short round money, but are not eligible for the average $1000 scholarship. In the timed events, the average is figured on 2 head and the top 10 are invited back. So the average is defined as “fastest time on 2 or 3 head or total average head.” ATTENTION ALL CONTESTANTS: *** Rough stock contestants can pick up their convention wristbands Monday at 6 pm (before their 1st go in the 7 pm performance) No need to check in earlier than that. *** *** Barrel Racers can pick theirs up Sunday evening. *** *** All other timed events can get theirs anytime Sunday evening or Monday during the day *** Entries will be due XXXXX NO LATER. $150 per event Texas FFA Advisors: This year, Texas FFA Convention Rodeo registration will be found on the Texas FFA Roster System along with regular State Convention registration. We hope this may alleviate any membership issues. How to Register Students Through Texas FFA Roster System: The Texas FFA Rodeo Registration will open through the Texas FFA Roster System. The Advisor will click on "Event Registration," "2019 Texas FFA Convention," then "Manage Registration." Enter convention accommodation information to get past that screen. Click "edit" on the right-hand side to register the student for convention. Enter each student for the Rodeo. Open and print the .pdf file entry form needs to obtain signatures Mail completed form with payment [ money order/cashiers check/school checks ONLY ] made out to "Texas FFA" - NO PERSONAL CHECKS!!!!!!!! ** Contestants: PLEASE try to mail your entries certified mail! There have been issues in the past with the USPS losing entries. Certified mail ensures that they are trackable.** Entry fee deadline: XXXXX Late entry deadline: no late entries!
